Resolved Question: Did your ob/gyn discuss the benefits of breastfeeding with you during your pregnancy?

If yes, please share your experience. Did your doctor initiate the discussion? Did you find it helpful? Anything you'd like to share would be appreciated. If no, do you feel that he/she should have? Why or why not? Do you think it's important that breastfeeding be discussed with your ob/gyn during pregancy, as it is proven to be beneficial to womens' health? Your thoughts, please. No debates. This is a serious question, not an invitation to argue. Thanks!

Voting Question: Menstrual Cycle Brownish color...help?

Okay so the whole story might help. In february I had an abortion (regret it every single day) and went on loestrin 24. I had one "period" last month which lasted 1 1/2 days and was the right reddish color. It was very light and not even there really. So this month im on my brown pills now which is the time im supposed to have my period. I looked this morning and its dark brown. I have never had a dark brown menstrual cycle before. Is this normal? For a while after my abortion I thought I was pregnant again because I was having the symptoms. I dont know what to think of this dark brown stuff. Please help! I should probably add that my stomach has been very very upset the past few days to the point where im really bloated and having diareha...Sorry I know TMI I know this is not a Pregnancy question but I thought that you might have better insight than the womens health area lol

Resolved Question: Womens health question, help please?

For the people who are going to say "Go to the doctor"...yes, I have an appointment Wednesday. HOWEVER, I cannot go through the pain much longer, and I need some help. On my 'private area' I have some sort of sores, I'm not sure what they are. They hurt, and they start out as a little red dot and proceed to become a larger sore. I started out with one, and now I have about 5.Lately there has been a discharge as well, but only started recently. It is NOT an STD, because I am currently not sexually active. It hurts extremely bad to urinate, so bad in fact that I have been trying to avoid liquid every day and when I did go to the bathroom I reactively screamed in agony. (lol?). I need to calm the pain until Wednesday, any suggestions? If your a women who has had anything similar to what I have, please tell me what it is and how to make it less painful until I look the doctor. When I say I am not currently sexually active, meaning ever. I am a virgin, and I have never had oral sex.

Resolved Question: Does anyone else find this wrong?

Do you find it wrong that people will go to the pregnancy section to ask how to receive an abortion? I dont receive it, why go to a room full of women that are pregnant, trying to receive pregnant, or already mothers and ask them about abortions??? Wouldnt that be best left at the womens health section so it doesnt make so many emotional women receive even more emotional? I understand asking questions about abortions, i totally believe in being educated, but here?? Thank you every for your answers. I just wanted to know if I am being a jerk thinking that its wrong to post those questions here. I am pro-life, HOWEVER, I would never deign to take someones rights away, it IS their choice. And I think educating themselves on the subject is great, its a huge decision, but just not here.

Open Question: Men how do you honestly feel about breast implants?

I used to have implants, due to health issues I had to have them removed two years ago. I am unhappy over the results of my surgery and am considering reimplanting. I am flat and when I say flat I mean I don't even fill out a 30A cup bra. I also don't like the cosmetic results of my surgery..long story short doc messed up and wont fix it unless I pay more. I want a mans opinion because men are the ones who handle them...I just want to fit clothes in the womens department, wear a bra that I can fill out and look like a women not a little girl. I wouldn't go bigger then a B cup either as I am very petite.

Resolved Question: Overlooked! If men have such an advantage, why do we have the highest suicide rates?

So Yahoo answers, lets receive to the meat of some of these difficult hitting issues. We hear a lot about women in our society, there is huge amounts money spent on womens health awareness. Tons of focus on equal pay for women. Many women still go to bars expecting to drink for free. Men die on average 4 years younger than women, their is considerably less money spent on men's health awareness, we have the highest suicide rate of any demographic, and no one seems to pay that much concern (accept for those of us men who have arrive to realize that we are being duped). So Yahoo answers, why are men killing themselves at rates FAR BEYOND female suicide rates? Don't feed me any crap like testosterone, this is a serious societal issue. Discuss and please visit http://www.rulymob.com Thank you for your insightful response Sam, points. 1st class lady and Laela thank you very much for your contributions Bismark I really like your response thank you for your contribution right Ola R, but these statistics are somewhat flawed because they do not discount many repeat attempts from the same people. Men have a MUCH higher mortality rate than women in suicide, I do know what you are talking about however we are talking about sheer death stats classified by sex. The most common suicide method for both sexes is a firearm (in the United States) Sam I would like to mention if you read the book provided at that link you would realize that there is a whole chapter that discusses male suicide rates. I am extraordinarily concerned with this issue, trying to imply that I am not is insulting. Millie, thank you for your insightful contribution. I am not mad at women for the record, and this post has nothing to do with previous posts. I am terribly sorry about your losses or seeing your friends struggle with depression and suicide.

Resolved Question: Would you be opposed to TS women coming here to ask questions?

Relating to transition and other TS and womens health related subjects? As someone who considers herself to be a heterosexual identifying lady just with a TS past I don't feel it's right that I have to use the lgbt section. Raye kay their are far more issues then simply breast health.Maintenance of the neo vagina for one mental health issues hormone usage and the list goes on.Transgender is an umbrella term for cross dressers, drag queens and transvestites and was never intentioned to include TS people who simply wish to fit in.That is why I am asking first and identifying as ts so if you should look something that I ask or some other ts related question your not saying hey what are they doing here.

Resolved Question: Can you get pregnant the SECOND week of just starting Birth Control Pills??

I was on the pill for 2 years. (Yasmin) I finish my last pack in Feb. I got my period April 1st and re-started the pills April 6th (sunday) I missed the first pill on the 12th, but doubled up on the 13th. Then in the second week of the pills I missed 3, not in a row but I missed them like the 13th, 15th and 17th (havent doubled up yet).. I had unprotected sex the 14th, 15th and the 17th. I heard that it only takes 7days for the pill to work, It even says that in my pill packet but my doctor told me over and over again to wait a month.. do you think she was just being extra careful? Also the 15th i felt some weird cramping in my left ovary so I looked up my ovulation day and it was the 15th! same day i had cramping and sex.. Has anyone gotten pregnant the SECOND week on the pill?! Please let me know.. Thank You!! also I tried posting this in womens health but got no responses.

Open Question: Hmmmmmm fish?

Well I've been an active vegetarian since January, and have not eaten any meat since, including fish. So, recently, I've been hearing a lot about the importance of fish and sea food in a healthy and vaired diet. Some of the healthiest places in the world, for exaple Japan, consume generous amounts of seafood, and nothing is wrong with them. Also, France, Italy, and Greece consume liberal amounts of fish and seafood, and as you can look, the people are very healthy. So I'm confused. I keep hearing how you don't know where the fish has been and what water has been polluting it and the company etc. and that it's bad for you, but many findings have proved otherwise. Also, if fish is indeed critical for a truly healthy and fortified diet, how can I include it into my diet safely? Answers would be greatly appreciated. :) Here are some articles about foriegn diets and fish and such: http://women.webmd.com/guide/french-womens-diet http://www.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/diet.fitness/08/31/cl.worldly.advice/index.html http://www.blurtit.com/q243622.html

Resolved Question: Is a womans BODY more valuable than a MAN's?

Violence against women is an issue. Violence against men is NOT an issue. A men loses no value by sleeping with 100 women. A lady loses value with every man she sleeps with. Womens health is a bigger issue than mens health If a man comes forward with a rape charge people giggle. If a lady comes forward with a rape charge, people gasp. Its acceptable to show a man getting slapped, punched, knocked out, or injured by a lady. It is R-rated to show a lady getting slapped, punched, knocked out, or injured by a man. Doesn't it every suggest that women are "more important" than men? And isn't it sexist? "Sam" This question is based on reality. These are not my personal beliefs. What you are stating is your opinion and that doesn't match what is really going on.
